Bookworm  is a word-forming computer puzzle game by PopCap Games. From a grid of available letters, players connect letters to form words. As words are formed, they are removed from the grid and the remaining letters collapse to fill the available space. As in Scrabble, players earn more points by creating longer words or words which use less common letters.

Game modes

The modes of the game include “Classic” and “Action”. Classic mode is generally easier, because the player has an unlimited amount of time to form words. In contrast but if the burning tile are Bottom of the screen you can’t scramble, in action mode, tiles move on their own, and a larger number of red (burning) tiles spontaneously appear. As a result, it is generally easier to create longer words in classic mode, whereas in action mode, the primary goal is often to simply remove red tiles before they cause the game to end. In action mode, one can scramble the tiles even when red tiles appear at the bottom of the game board (unlike in classic mode), but one loses the ability to do so if there are too many red tiles on the board.

The title features a separate high score “Hall of Fame” for each of the two modes.

What the teacher can do to implement this game is by installing the software into each and every computer in the classroom so that everyone will get to play this game. Then ask the pupils to finish the game within the time given. Then, pupils with the highest score will get a prize as an extrinsic motivation for them.

What is DoMo Animate?????

Domo Animate is a place where you can make animations, you can also post it on Youtube. But it’s a place where you can show your creativity: check out animatoins & create them.

Why do I choose DoMo????

  1. Access to all Students, Parents & Educators, FREE
  2. There are pre-made screens for new users to easily upload pictures and create animations
  3. The site monitors and removes inappropriate animation
  4. The site identifies and scrambles inappropriate language used in animation creations

  1. The animation is difficult to do, and will take quite a bit of time to master
  2. A teacher has little time to commit to understanding new software such as this
  3. Students will be confused unless the format is simplified for lower grades
  4. You cannot post the animations to YouTube as of yet
  5. You are limited to using only music available at DoMo Animate.

When you can use it?

  • to create a lesson animation to jumpstart students’ interest in a particular subject
  • as an activity for children to share their stories to the class

A very good medium to be implemented in the classroom when telling a story to the pupils.

My Top 10 Wishlist

The major purpose of ICT-tools is to make administration and communication for students, teachers and administrative personnel more easy and effective. If web supporting tools are used correctly and in the proper context they can contribute in assuring a higher quality and standard of pedagogical learning, teaching and administrative efficiency.

This is my top 10 wishlist for the future classroom.

1. Whiteboards

We prefer whiteboards to blackboards. On one hand, the reason for this is that the classroom is equipped with electronic gear and computers. The use of chalk for blackboards produces chalk dust over time that settles over the circuits, causes overheating, and ruins vulnerable equipment. On the other hand, interactive whiteboards fit better into a learning environment, where innovative teaching and learning with multimedia tools is inevitable. Interactive whiteboard helps teachers to structure their lessons, supports 7collaborative learning, can help to develop student’s cognitive skills, enables ICT use to be more integrated into classroom, allows text and images to be moved around the board and/or changed, and finally allows work to be saved or to be printed out.

2. Wireless technology and multimedia

The classroom of the future promotes not only a sense of well-being and produces a home-like atmosphere and its interior is  technically well equipped and designed for effective learning as well. Mobility was among  the main factors to choose the technical tools. Mobility means on one hand wireless technology, on the other hand mobile electrical tools. Multimedia laptops with wifi are mobile solutions for teachers and students. The wireless network allows students to have access to computing networks and the Internet. The access to online resources encourages students’ critical thinking and problem solving ability, discussion and collaboration while using real world data  and primary source resources to make the content authentic.

3. TV has been used with success in a few places

Television has been utilized successfully as a mechanism for reaching out-of-school youth in a number of countries, especially in Latin America and China, and the results of such projects have been widely disseminated.

4. Radio instruction has been used widely and is reasonably well studied

Radio instruction in formal education has been well studied, especially the links between the use of radio in combination with school-based educational resources and a variety of pedagogical practices.

5. Technician

The school must make sure that they have at least one or two technician to monitor the ICT tools. The scenario nowadays is most of ICT tools that had been provided to the school cannot be used because already broken. So, it is important to place a technician at the school so that they can monitor and take care all the ICT tools.

6. Training

The teacher should be well- trained so that they can maximize the usage of the ICT tools.

7. Provide free laptop to the students who are not able to own laptop at their home

By doing this, it can make sure that all student have the experience engaging in the ICT regardless their economic status.

8. Multimedia textbook

All the content for the textbook will be online and pupil can asses to them any time they want.

9. The use of handheld devices is just now receiving serious widespread attention

Little research has been done on uses of handheld devices (including personal digital assistants and mobile phones) in education.

10. Electricity

Last but not least, the government must ensure that each and every school in the country have the source of electricity since the ICT tools are not functional without electricity.

Integrating ICT into education seems to be a necessary issue for educators / education administrators in the world. However, if teachers cannot make good use of the ICT tools, the money and time spent on the ICT is going to be a waste. Also, if the educational budget is limited, looking for a cost-effective and high-performance ICT tool can be the first priority

for this entry, i will write about my experience during teaching practice for 3 months……….during the teaching practice, i was been placed at Sekolah Kebangsaan Bandar Baru Seri Petaling 2….it such a great school, because the staff there are very kind to us….they also treat us very well, just like a normal teacher, not like a practice teacher….the school session was carried out in the morning….and the school consists about 280 pupils.

ok,for this entry, we were required to write about our experience teaching using ICT…but, to be honest, i’m not using it, because according my mentor, it will waste a lot of our time……sometime, the problem also will occurred when we using it in the class…, we were asked to use just a traditional method, that is by using flash card, mahjong paper and pictures card….we were not encourage to use ICT……even if were allowed to use it, we will still won’t be able to use it because a lot of ICT items at that school already went broken…i do wish a lot to apply the ICT in my lesson, but what to do, my dreams not become reality…..

Experience teaches us a lot and makes us more matured………… As we all know, there are no perfectionist in this world………….. Everybody have their own weaknesses and make mistakes…………….. However, to be successful in this world we should admit our mistake and learn from it……………….. The most important thing is we should always be aware and not repeating the same mistake over and over again………………. We realize that, we do a lot of mistakes during the first lesson and we use the second lesson as a space for us to corrected all the mistakes and make improvement to our lesson…………….

Ok, before i end my entry, i would like to quote a word of wisdom from Sir Richard Needham “Strong people make as many mistakes as weak people. Difference is that strong people admit their mistakes, laugh at them, and learn from them. That is how they become strong.”

is E-Portfolio to you???based on my understanding, E-Portfolio is a
collection of electronic evidence assembled and managed by a user. This
electronic evidence may include text, picture and audio.

Since this
kind of portfolio is electronic, so it is easier for the user to
maintain their own portfolio when they online. E-Portfolio can be seen
as a type of learning record that provides actual evidence of

E-portfolios, like traditional portfolio, can facilitate students’ reflection on their own learning, leading to more awareness of learning strategies and needs.

Emm, what is MLearning????MLearning stands for mobile learning where people can access to the internet to look for the information that they want by using their mobile phone….

this type of technology will make our learning become a lot more easier since we can access to the information anywhere that we like…it also will make us able to access to the internet anytime that we like since it doesn’t have any time limit…..

we as a teacher can promote this type of technology in our classroom since it brings a lot of advantages…we can ask our students to look for more information in a wide areas and not only relying on  their textbook…

but, we also must bare in mind that this technology also have its own disadvantages…as an example, the student need to have an expensive mobile phone in able to use this application…sometimes, this technology also can be really slow in downloading data when too many users hooked up to the system…

so, its up to teacher on how they want to apply this kind of technology in their teaching and learning process….

Title of the video: Holiday Trip

Objective: By the
end of the video,
– The audience will be able to recognize and locate various type of land and
sea transportation.

Year 2 Pupils
Principle: The transfer of learning

In my video, there will be four
transportations that will be highlighted on that are motorcycle, bus, car and airplane.
From this video, the children will be able to recognize and locate two types of
transportation that is land and air transportation. For land transportation,
the children will be able to recognize and locate motorcycle, car and bus. Meanwhile,
for the air transportation, the children will be able to recognize and locate
the airplane. For this video, I’m considering in using real actors and also
real transportation. And the story for this video is like this:

Handsome Pete wants to go for a holiday with his

He uses his motorcycle to go the bus stop because
they will use a bus to go to the airport.

Handsome Pete and his friends take a bus to go the

Then, at the airport, they are taking a flight to
go to their holiday destination.

When they arrive at their holiday destination, they
rent a car to go to the places that they like.

This video is suit with the eleventh
principle which is the transfer of learning where students apply their
classroom knowledge in their daily life.

This video inculcates a moral value of how to use a proper transportation in order to manage their time well.

Last week, I had learned an
interesting new thing in my degree course which is Technology in Primary
Education. To be honest with all of you, I’m actually not a kind of person who
is good with technology. I just a humble person that come from a poor family
who does not know anything about technology. If someone asked me something
about technology, all I can do is just smile at them. This is because I do not
know anything about it.

luckily when I entered Universiti Malaya, I had been exposed with a lot of new and
interesting things and one of it is technology. I also feel very lucky because I’m
able to take this subject. This is because, from my opinion, this subject will
assist me a lot in exploring the ICT.

I entered my first class, I had been exposed to a lot of new terms in technology
world such as 21st Century Kids, Web Tool 2.0 and also the most
interesting thing that is Windows Live Messenger. I found out that by using
this advance technology tools, people will be able to communicate among themselves,
no matter where they are. And the most interesting parts is that this tools is
free of charge. Unlike the telephone, the user just needs to have the access to
the internet and they will be able to use this tool.

a nutshell, I found out that this subject is very interesting subject, because
throughout this subject, I will be able to learn a lot of useful knowledge and
also will be able to equip myself to become a modern teacher.
